Kilwinning is an ancient town that sits on the River Garnock in North Ayrshire. Attractions in kilwinning Include Eglinton Country Park was built in 1797.

Kilwinning might seem like a tiny town for any visitors but we’ve got a lot going on. Kilwinning has 11 Pubs, 6 restaurants,  9 Takeaways, 6 Cafes and one night club. If you’re looking for a chance to get out the house for a bite to eat or a drink then you’ll not have a hard time finding a place in Kilwinning. You’ve also got Irvine, Saltcoats, Ayr etc which are all within a 30 minute drive.

Okay so here’s what you need to try:-

  • Cronuts Brownings
  • Nancys Cheese Please (burger) – this is in Irvine though!
  • Vanilla Joes Icecream – this is also in Irvine
  • Coffee from Sweets Treats
  • Roll and Sausage from Kathys or Brownings.
  • Next Door for a cheeseburger

Ayrshire in general has some amazing places to go for a walk and has some beautiful scenery, if you’re a photographer you’ll fall in love. If you’re looking for a walk outside you could take a walk around Eglington Park, Visit the Abbey Tower or walk along the Garnock. There is also places like the ICI you could go a wander to.  However if you would like to visit some other locations here is a list of places within a half an hour drive of Kilwinning:-

  • Largs
  • Kelburn Country Park
  • Dean Castle and Country Park
  • Ayr beach Park
  • Electric Brae (this is actually a 45 minute drive)
  • Dunure Castle
  • Burns Monument

There is also good rail links to Glasgow and ayr.
